CVE-2025-62607
Executive Summary
CVE-2025-62607 is a low-severity information disclosure vulnerability in the Nautobot Single Source of Truth (SSoT) application. An unauthenticated attacker can access a configuration page that reveals the ServiceNow public instance name (e.g., companyname.service-now.com). This exposure is considered low-value as it does not leak secrets, usernames, or passwords. The vulnerability is patched in version 3.10.0.

Threat Level: Low. The exposed information is low-value and does not enable further exploitation without additional credentials.
Deep Dive & Mechanics
The Nautobot SSoT app provides a configuration page for ServiceNow integration. Prior to version 3.10.0, this page was accessible without authentication. The page displays the ServiceNow instance name (e.g., companyname.service-now.com) but does not expose the associated secret name, secret value, username, or password. An unauthenticated attacker can view this page but cannot modify the instance name or set a secret. The vulnerability is limited to this single page; other Nautobot pages remain protected.
The root cause is a missing authentication check on the configuration endpoint. The fix in version 3.10.0 adds proper access controls to this page.
Vulnerable vs. Patched Code
Vulnerable (pre-3.10.0):
The configuration view likely lacked a @login_required decorator or similar authentication check.
# Vulnerable view (conceptual)
class ServiceNowConfigView(View):
def get(self, request):
# No authentication check
instance_name = get_service_now_instance_name()
return render(request, 'config.html', {'instance_name': instance_name})
Patched (3.10.0): The patched version adds authentication enforcement.
# Patched view (conceptual)
from django.contrib.auth.mixins import LoginRequiredMixin
class ServiceNowConfigView(LoginRequiredMixin, View):
def get(self, request):
instance_name = get_service_now_instance_name()
return render(request, 'config.html', {'instance_name': instance_name})
Exploitation & Lab Setup
Red Team
Prerequisites:
- Target running Nautobot SSoT < 3.10.0
- Network access to the Nautobot web interface
Steps:
- Identify the target Nautobot instance.
- Access the unauthenticated configuration page:
GET /api/plugins/ssot/service-now/config/ HTTP/1.1 Host: target-nautobot.example.com - Parse the response for the ServiceNow instance name (e.g.,
companyname.service-now.com).
Example cURL:
curl -s http://target-nautobot.example.com/api/plugins/ssot/service-now/config/ | grep -oP '"instance_name":"[^"]+"'
Blue Team
Detection:
- Monitor for unauthenticated access to
/api/plugins/ssot/service-now/config/or similar endpoints. - Alert on any access to this endpoint from IPs not associated with authenticated users.
Hunting:
- Review web server logs for requests to the SSoT configuration endpoint without prior authentication.
- Check for anomalous access patterns, such as repeated requests from the same IP.
Indicators of Compromise (IOCs)
- URL Pattern:
/api/plugins/ssot/service-now/config/ - HTTP Response Body: Contains
"instance_name"field with a ServiceNow domain. - Log Entry:
GET /api/plugins/ssot/service-now/config/from an unauthenticated source.

Remediation & Mitigation
Immediate:
- Upgrade Nautobot SSoT to version 3.10.0 or later.
- If immediate upgrade is not possible, restrict access to the configuration endpoint via web application firewall (WAF) rules or network ACLs.
Long-term:
- Implement authentication checks on all API endpoints.
- Conduct regular security reviews of third-party plugins.
- Monitor for similar information disclosure vulnerabilities.
